5 Classic PlayStation Games That Will Forever Be Iconic

Take Us Back to the Good Ol’ Days

When you think of all the PlayStation has to offer nowadays, it’s easy to forget how far we’ve come. However, those golden oldies still hold a special place in our hearts as the godfathers of gaming, and we’re here to take a trip down Memory Lane.

1. Metal Gear Solid

It’s often touted as one of the best PlayStation games of all time—and for good reason. It singlehandedly revolutionized the gaming experience, bringing in a new wave of stealth and cinematics, and introducing us to an all-new way to play. It set the stage for its own franchise and many copycat stories.

2. Crash Bandicoot

Where would we be without that destructive bandicoot and his band of merry misfits? Whether you were racing around on a track or desperately trying to evade falling boulders, this guy and his goofy sneakers gave us an unforgettable childhood experience.

3. Tomb Raider

Alright, the graphics are a little wonky by today’s standards—especially in light of her remake—but the original Lara Croft introduced us to one of the best female protagonists ever. She didn’t need any help or a man; instead courageously made her way through saves and puzzles alike.

4. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2

We were never going to be as good as Tony, but we could certainly try. With his awesome moves and an even cooler soundtrack, we all lost hours of our lives moseying through skate parks.

5. Resident Evil 2

Sometimes, we wish we could forget the horror of Resident Evil. Other times, we wish we could relive it. Either way, this incredible horror franchise was unlike any other at the time, and we spent way too much time scaring ourselves half to death.
