1. She Was Fluent In 5 Languages

Audrey Hepburn was fluent in not one, not two, but five different languages. These included English, Spanish, French, Dutch, and Italian, but her first language was French.

2. She Nearly Starved In WWII

As many Dutch people did, Audrey Hepburn suffered extreme malnutrition in the final year of WWII. Her slender figure later in life may have partially been because of it.

3. She Was An EGOT Winner

A tremendously talented human being, Audrey Hepburn is one of the few people to have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. Only 21 people in history have ever received such an honor.

4. She Was A UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador

In addition to being a movie star, Audrey Hepburn was a humanitarian and activist. She visited some of the world's poorest regions with the aim of combating famine and helping children.

5. A Breed Of Tulip Was Named After Her

Because she had to resort to eating tulip bulbs to survive the war, a new hybrid breed of tulip was named after her in the 90s. She attended the dedication ceremony and gave the first Hepburn Tulip to her aunt.
